Children’s unveils race car decorated by young patients

Children's car

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Friday, April 25th, kicks off Indy Grand Prix race weekend in Birmingham. And some special children are putting their stamp on the action with the “Racing for Children’s” Porsche 911.

The car is decorated with the handprints and names of patients, two of which have been selected as honorary crew chiefs. They’ll be on the sidelines this weekend, cheering on driver, Clint Guthrie. It’s an honor Kelsey Hunnicutt, one of the honorary crew chiefs, can’t believe, “I never thought a year ago I would be where I am today, especially crew chief for Children’s and for Racing for Children’s and supporting everything. It’s just crazy.”

Clint Guthrie and his #4 car will race in the Pirelli World Challenge at Barber Motorsports Park this weekend.
