SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — A Shelby County mother accused of murdering her toddler son could find herself back behind bars.
Sommer Wilford is currently out on a $300,000 bond on a reckless murder charge.
According to court documents filed last week, Sommer Wilford was under the influence of both drugs and alcohol when her car crashed outside an Alabaster bank.
Now, the Shelby County district attorney is asking Wilford to take a random drug test while out on bond.
The Shelby County District Attorney’s Office is asking Wilford be required to submit to random drug testing while she’s out on bond.
Shelby County Judge Dan Reeves is expected to address the request next Tuesday during a bond motion hearing.
