CORDOVA, Ala. (WIAT) — Construction of Cordova’s new grocery store is underway.
The reaction from residents as the three year anniversary approaches has been the same.
Authur Middleton says it’s like music to his ears, the sounds of bulldozers moving dirt and workers building walls brick by brick.
Meanwhile, just across the street a new gas station and convenience store just re-opened as well.
“It’s been great, it’s been great. A lot of customers. I’m very glad to see it open back up,” BP employee Beverly Webb says.
“We’re so grateful. We thank God each and every day for what he has done and what he will continue to do for our town and people of Cordova,” Middleton says.
In addition to the grocery store, a new city hall and police station are set to be built in the next year.
