CULLMAN COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT)- Cullman County Sheriff Mike Rainey has confirmed with CBS 42 that the body of missing teen Billy Ray Wren was recovered Saturday morning on Smith Lake.
Rainey says the sheriff’s office dispatch received the call around 9:26 a.m. that the body was found 100 yards southwest of where Wren was last seen. The body was spotted by a boater.
18-year-old Wren was reported last seen on April 21st near County Road 68 in the Cold Springs area.
The body has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science in Huntsville for an autopsy.
