Girls use lemonade stand to raise money to fight Cancer

CAHABA HEIGHTS, Ala. (WIAT) – It’s not easy losing a parent no matter how old you are. But coping with the loss and making sense of your feelings can be very confusing when you’re a small child.

It’s been five months since Lucy and Ruby Harris said good-bye to their father Scott. He lost his battle with Cancer in November. While both girls would love to have him with them still they have come to understand the need to help others. And they are using their father as inspiration,

So they are crafting up items to sell in hopes of raising money to support Cancer research.

They are hand making bracelets to sell as part of their effort. They have also designed t-shirts and they will sell lemonade next week May 3rd from 10:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the New Merkle Community Center. It’s located at 4405 Dolly Ridge Road in Vestavia Hills.
