HUEYTOWN, Ala (WIAT) — One Hueytown community is mourning the loss of 44-year old Allen Huddleston, a well-known manager of Passmore Towing and Recovery. He was shot and killed around 2am Saturday at Danny’s Back Street Lounge in Bessemer, and today police charged Robert Esmond Davis with his murder.
Police say Huddleston got into an argument with Davis, who was fighting with a woman at the bar. The fight escalated and Davis shot Huddleston. Davis was taken into custody and transferred to the Jefferson County Jail on Sunday morning. He was released this afternoon after making bond.
Those who worked with Huddleston at Passmore Towing say he was like a brother to them.
“He’d give the shirt off his back, he’d help anybody do anything,” says an employee who didn’t want to be identified.
There are tentative plans for a memorial service.
