FAIRFIELD, Ala. (WIAT) — A man is in jail Tuesday night in connection with the death of a Pinson woman.
Her body was found April 19 behind a house in the 500 block of 40th Street.
Fairfield police arrested 27-year-old Kenneth Childers and charged him with the abuse of a corpse.
Childers is charged in connection with the death of 22-year-old Megan Monroe.
Her body was found torched behind a home after firefighters responded to a house fire.
The coroner has not ruled an exact cause of death.
A second man was taken into custody after a search warrant was issued, but so far he has not been charged.
Fairfield police are asking anyone who had contact with Monroe before April 19 to call them at (205) 786-4111.
