B’ham man sentenced to supervised probation for series of arsons

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A Birmingham man is sentenced to supervised probation and litter service program for his role in a strong of intentionally-set fires.

Anthony Carl Weaver pleaded guilty in 2013 to arson and burglary.

He and former Birmingham police officers Curtis Thornton and Jason Arnold were accused of setting fires in Jefferson County in 2012.

Thornton was sentenced to 100 years in prison in July of 2013.
