Second suspect arrested in the death of Pinson woman

FAIRFIELD, Ala. (WIAT) — Authorities in Birmingham arrested another suspect in the disappearance and death of a 22-year-old Pinson woman.

Fairfield police arrested 31-year-old Nathaniel Fortune and charged him with abuse of a corpse.

Fortune is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Kenneth Childers, 27, is already in jail for the same charges.

Monroe’s body was found burning behind a home in Fairfield on April 18.

She was last seen at the Jefferson County Courthouse the previous day.
