MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) – Another defendant in a multi-state dog fighting investigation is scheduled to plead guilty.

Irkis Forrest of Theodore is due in federal court in Montgomery on Friday. He recently filed court papers saying he wanted to change his plea to guilty.

A federal indictment accused Forrest of keeping 41 fighting dogs in Mobile County prior last August, when federal, state and local officials seized more than 400 pit bulls in three states.

Forrest would become the 10th person to plead guilty in what federal prosecutors say were high-stakes dog fights held mostly in east Alabama. The others who pleaded guilty are from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Texas.
