Sprint Cup qualifying at Talladega holds a lot of uncertainty

Talladega, Ala. (WIAT)-NASCAR implemented its new knockout qualifying for the 2014 and Saturday will be the first superspeedway test of the season and the drivers aren’t certain how it’s all going to play out.

The first qualifying segment will feature the entire field of 47 teams in a 25-minute session.  The top-24 drivers will advance to the second round for a 10-minute session. The final five-minutes will feature the 12 fastest drivers with the quickest lap earning the pole position.

Qualifying begins Saturday at 12pm.
