PLEASANT GROVE, Ala. (WIAT) – Pleasant Grove Middle School was evacuated Thursday afternoon after a note claiming there was a bomb in a classroom was found.
Jarvis Watkins, the principal at the school, tells CBS42 that around 1 p.m. a custodian found a note written on a bathroom stall, claiming a bomb was in one of the classrooms.
Just a short while later, a teacher discovered a water bottle that she had not previously noticed.
The students were dismissed from the school around 2 p.m.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has a bomb squad at the the scene.
