BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) – Birmingham police say seven people are under arrest after officers found an illegal gambling operation in the middle of the night.
Police went to a home around 2:40 a.m. Friday to investigate reports about a female who was screaming for help.
Officers didn’t find that person, but police say they went inside the house and found two rooms with more than a dozen video machines.
Police arrested seven people, charging six with visiting an illegal gambling establishment. The man who answered the door at the house was charged with running the operation.
Police say the seized 15 gambling machines and $1,500 in cash.
