GORDO, Ala. (WIAT) — Law enforcement in Gordo are on the scene of shooting at the Grandview Gardens apartment complex.

The incident started around 9:30 a.m. when law enforcement went to serve James Corder with an eviction notice.

The notice upset Corder, and officers were called back to the complex later Monday.

Corder was reportedly playing loud music and making threats.

When officers arrived back at the scene, Corder was armed with what authorities believe to be a hand gun.

He fired at officers and they fired back.

Corder was hit and was airlifted to UAB Hospital.

An officer suffered some non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

u were lied to. he was not playing music and the police fired first on a 76year old with dementia. try asking some witnesses! he was being evicted because he didnt want strangers inspecting his home every month. the police never tried to contact his social worker, they just shoot first and ask questions later. do u really think u can get the truth by asking a corrupt police department what happened? please get the story right. just because they are police dosent mean it wasnt attempted murder.
