Exercise is part of a healthy lifestyle for everyone and new mothers are no exception. Post-natal fitness is healthy for all new moms.
Experts say its gets mothers back in shape and helps reduce post-postpartum depression. However, exercise alone won’t make pregnancy pounds disappear. Kathleen Donahoe, Senior instructor at Oh Baby! Fitness, says its not a quick fix. You want to do it in a healthy way, you want to make sure you are eating enough, particularly if you’re breastfeeding. She says a slow approach is best. For women who had a condition during their pregnancy or for those who were on bed rest, doctors say its especially important for these women to get out and exercise after they have their baby.
Moms should check with their doctors before starting any workout routine.
