BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — From preparing the nursery to endless doctor appointments, pregnancy can be a trying time.
Adding to that stress could make a woman more likely to be involved in car accidents.
That’s according to a new study by the Canadian Medical Association Journal.
Doctors analyzed more than 500,000 expectant mothers.
They were tracked over the course of six years and found to be 42 percent more likely to be involved in a serious car crash while pregnant.
Second trimester accidents were most common.
