FAYETTE, Ala. (WIAT) — Kellie Maluff is the choral director at Fayette County High School.
She’s this week’s recipient of WIAT 42 News’ One Class At A Time grant program.
“Being a choir in a small town, sometimes you can’t get as much funding as we would like. We try as hard as we can,” Maluff said. “I saw an opportunity and these kids to me deserve the world.”
Maluff says she’s wanted to get them into competitions, but that requires proper funding.
Now, she has the money to provide them with the money they need.
“I have in my brain a lot of competitions that I already want to sign us up for next year that we weren’t able to do this past year,” Maluff said. “Music. Definitely lots of music. Maybe risers. There’s just so many things you can do with that kind of money.”
