Second suspect faces capital murder charges in Ensley double homicide

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Birmingham police say a second suspect in a late-April double homicide has been arrested on capital murder warrants.

Jermaine Tolbert, 26, was arrested and charged with two counts of capital murder in the deaths of Dekovan Harris and Sharday Ware.

Dewayne Barnes already faces identical charges for his alleged role in the crime.

Ware and Harris were shot and killed on Friday, April 25 in the 1300 block of 57th Place in Ensley.

The two were found dead by Ware’s 7-year-old daughter.

Tolbert and Barnes are being held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
