Soymilk recall affects 17 states, including Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — WhiteWave Foods is recalling some of its soymilk because it may contain almond milk. People with an allergy to almonds could suffer a life-threatening reaction if they consume the product.

The recall is on half-gallon containers of Silk Light Original Soymilk sold in 17 states including: Arizona, Colorado, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming, and here in Alabama. Fewer than 21,402 half-gallon units were shipped to retailers and wholesalers in those states.

The half-gallon containers are printed with “Use by” dates of either June 22, 2014 or June 23, 2014. No illness has been reported. You can return the soymilk for a refund or exchange. You can also contact the company at 1-866-663-4349.
