BLOUNT COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — A drug seizure in Blount County was so big that the feds are coming in and taking the investigation out of state. Two-and-a-half pounds of meth were taken off the streets by Blount County authorities.

Sheriff Lloyd Arrington says deputies got an anonymous tip and found the drugs during a traffic stop. The Drug Enforcement Agency will be investigating where the drugs came from because of the amount of drugs seized.

Some details from the investigation, such as the number of people taken into custody, are being withheld at this time because of the federal involvement.
