Flooding in Texas leads to increase in snake sightings

Texas snakes

HOUSTON, Tex. (WIAT) — It’s a problem Alabama faces each year, heavy rain followed by an increase in snake sightings. Texas is currently experiencing the same problem. Snakes are showing up along with the rain.

Flooding in Houston brought a four foot rat snake out of hiding. It also led to a small alligator showing up in a woman’s garage. Mice are also running around, which can explain the snakes. They go searching for food, and will follow the rodents. They’re all looking for higher ground.
