Some educators were worried from the start about Alabama Accountability Act

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The superintendent of Birmingham City Schools says educators worried from the start about the Alabama Accountability Act. A judge has ruled the act unconstitutional, saying guidelines weren’t fair in how decisions were made about which schools were failing.

An attorney for the Institute for Justice, which represents a group defending the act, says an appeal is in the works.
