Voting information for Primary Election Day

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — With the primary on Tuesday, WIAT 42 News wants to make sure you have all of the information you need to know about voting before heading out to the polls.

First, make sure you know where your polling place is. It’s easy to find out on www.alabamavotes.gov. Just type in your address or you can even put in your last name, birthday and the county you live in.

Second, when you get to the polls, you will have to prove who you are – that requires the correct type of identification, which can be a driver’s license, state-issued identification card or passport. If you don’t have any of those forms of identification, you can apply for a free Alabama Voter ID Card.

Finally, what happens if you see something wrong or inaccurate on voting day? It’s easy to report voter fraud to the state of Alabama online. All you need to do is fill out and form and describe in as much detail as possible what exactly happened.
