GEORGIANA, Ala. (WIAT) — Hank Williams’ hometown of Georgiana, Alabama, has the sounds of country music headed its way, but there’s one problem: will anyone be there to enjoy it?
The 35th annual Hank Williams Festival is quickly approaching, but ticket sales are much slower than normal.
Around 450 tickets are sold right now, which is a small number compared to the nearly 1,500 people who attended the festival last year. Hank Williams’ granddaughter, Hilary Williams, is performing at the festival.
The Hank Williams Museum Board is hopeful that Hilary’s presence will bring a bigger crowd.
