One dead, one in custody after Cullman County shooting

BERLIN, Ala. (WIAT)- One person is dead after a shooting in the Berlin community of Cullman County Sunday evening.

Cullman County Sheriff Mike Rainey tells WIAT 42 News that a man fired shots at an individual at Berlin Plaza around 7:00 p. m.  The man then left the scene and drove to a home off US 278 East.   The suspect knocked on the door of the home and shot the person who answered the door.  That person was killed in the shooting.

The man was taken into custody.   Names of the shooter or the victim have not been released at this time.  WIAT 42 News has a crew at the scene and will have the latest on Wake Up Alabama.
