Police charge suspect in drug-related homicide

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – A Birmingham man has been charged with murder after a shooting in Ensley.

Detectives say 37-year-old Issac Carr shot and killed 40-year-old Michael Parker around 5:15 a.m. Saturday at a home on Avenue D.  Lt. Sean Edwards says the two men were engaging in drug use before they got into an altercation that led to the shooting.

Officers from the West Precinct responded and found Parker lying on the front porch suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.  He died at the scene.

Carr is in the Jefferson County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
