BRAZIL (WIAT) — All across Birmingham Monday night large groups of soccer fans gathered to watch the United States beat Ghana in their opening match of the 2014 World Cup. As packed as places like Good People Brewing Company were, they were nothing like the scene down in Brazil. Morgan Copes, a founding father of the Birmingham Hammers was at a fan fest Monday evening watching the game. He shared with WIAT 42 the reaction from the crowd after the United States Captain Clint Dempsey scored the first goal 34 seconds into the game.
