BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The family of Arthur Mills, who was gunned down on Father’s Day, says he died trying to help a neighbor in danger. There are still bullet holes outside of his home and his car is wrapped up, after the glass was shattered by bullets.
Mills was the oldest of three children; his youngest brother says his brother was just trying to do what was right. The 53-year-old Mills tried to help an elderly woman cross the street after she was robbed and assaulted by three men. Those men shot and killed the father of two.
Police are questioning a person of interest. They are still looking for the two other suspects.
