Smoke in Helena restaurant caused by pest control, not fire

HELENA, Ala. (WIAT) — While many were still sleeping firefighters in Shelby County were responding to what they thought was a fire. It turned out that the fog in the air was something other than smoke, it was a bug bomb.

It happened at El Patron at the intersection of county roads 95 & 58 in Helena. The fog in the air turned out to be from pest control “bug bombs” set off inside market “El Patron”.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
