Vestavia vet offering free exams for cats adopted from closing cat shelter

Cats needing homes

Pet certificateVESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. (WIAT) — Last week WIAT 42 told you about an unlicensed animal shelter called “Magnolia Furry Tails” that was closing down after its founder passed away a few days earlier. While all the dogs were adopted, there were still 55 cats needing a new home. Though that number has gone down some, there are still dozens of felines left. Now a veterinarian office in Vestavia Hills is looking to speed the process up a bit by offering free exams for any of the cats adopted from Magnolia Furry Tails.

Dr. Kris Mahaffey of Pet Vet Animal Hospital is offering a free physical exam, one year of rabies vaccine, FVRCP-C vaccine, and a month supply of Advantage Multi.
