Three people killed in Huntsville plane crash identifed

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) — We have confirmed the names of the three people killed in a Birmingham based plane crash just outside of the Huntsville International Airport on Wednesday.

The Madison County Deputy Coroner, David Young identifies the victims as follows:

  • William Christopher II, 57 of Center Point
  • Robin Gary Smith, 60 of Yukon, Oklahoma
  • Kenneth Lynn Rousseau, 67 of Harpersville

WIAT 42’s Parrish Alleman spoke with Bill Christopher’s wife of 31 years, Lori. She says Bill had 35 years of experience with 0 accidents, and he loved flying. Bill was a scout master as well. The couple had two children together and Bill was the stepfather to Lori’s oldest daughter. He was also an avid scuba diver who just last year took his daughter on her first gulf dive. His wife calls it a highlight in his life.

An investigator from the NTSB is on the way to Huntsville now to investigate what caused the plane to crash as it was taking off.
