Calhoun County’s NAACP holds rally in protest of KKK fliers

CALHOUN CO., Ala. (WIAT) — Calhoun County’s NAACP is not happy about the flyers distributed around Saks, Oxford, and Coldwater last weekend, for the United Klan’s of America.

The flyers denounced homosexuality and interracial relationships and referenced the KKK.

Ed Moore, a JSU student, who was one of protestors, says instead of sending a message through fliers, he would like to meet with the people behind them, face to face, “if they were really as tough as they claim to be, then we would see some faces, they would have been here today, more than likely, to go against the things that we were saying.  I would like to see what these guys look like and see if they’re willing to come forward. 10.50.14”

Alabama NAACP State President Bernard Simelton attended the rally along with several city, county and state leaders.
