West Alabama officers ramping up Drive Sober campaign for 4th of July weekend

Drive sober campaign

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — While people are making plans for how they’ll celebrate the 4th of July, police are making plans for how they’ll catch people who celebrate with drinking and driving.

West Alabama law enforcement has teamed up to enforce the “Drive Sober, or Get Pulled Over” campaign. The officers tell WIAT 42, these types of efforts are making a noticeable difference during dangerous times on the road.

Drivers in west Alabama should expect to see law enforcement out in full force throughout the 4th of July weekend. They’ll be using increased patrols and sobriety checkpoints to keep an eye out for drunk drivers.
