Hospice care business bringing more jobs to Birmingham area

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – More than a dozen new jobs are coming to the area and they’re all skilled in dealing with around the clock healthcare. A ribbon cutting was held Thursday morning for Optum Hospice Card Suites.

Nearly 20 employees are on staff at the Irondale location. Optum is the first 24-7 hospice care facility in the area.

The hospice facility will be part of the St. Martin’s in the Pines community. St. Martin’s offers a retirement community, Alzheimer’s care and nursing home care.
