BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – The Birmingham Museum of Art will open a new exhibit Saturday featuring Japanese culture. Lethal beauty will feature many aspects of samurai culture, mainly focused between the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries.
Artwork depicting battles are part of the exhibit, as are different elements of samurai dress including armor, helmets and swords.
“You can see that the works that are here are actually all beautiful,” said the exhibit curator Andreas Marks.
The exhibit will be at the museum through September 21.
