Alabama home sales flat in May

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Strong gains in home sales in March fueled high expectations so a flat April was disappointing. And May did little better

Home sales across Alabama were up less than a half percent, with the average sale price up just under 5.5% homes selling at an average just under $143,000.

In Birmingham, home sales increased less than 2%. In Tuscaloosa sales were down more than 5%.

Cullman and Calhoun counties fared much better with sales up 8% in May.
