LEEDS, Ala. (WIAT) — Leeds Mayor David Miller wants everyone to know his city doesn’t endorse a controversial billboard that has popped up along I-20 near the city. The billboard says quote, “Anti-racist is a code word for anti-white.”

Even though the billboard is technically in Birmingham, Mayor Miller is worried that drivers will think, Leeds supports the message, “There’s very little we can do about it. It’s in Birmingham. I’m sure there’s very little Mayor Bell could do about it because even racist morons have first amendment rights.  So, it’s something we have to live with. I hope it’s gone soon.”

Mayor Miller says Leeds has a long history of racial harmony, pointing out it has one of the oldest Martin Luther King Unity Breakfasts in Alabama.
