Alabaster police arrest, charge man for impersonating police officer

ALABASTER, Ala. (WIAT) – A man who talked like a police officer and flashed a badge now faces serious charges and ten years in jail, because investigators say he isn’t an officer.

Charles Damon Lewis is out of jail on bond. Alabaster police arrested him last week and charged him with impersonating a police officer. Investigators say Lewis threatened someone in the Walmart shopping center parking lot and flashed a badge.

Impersonating a peace officer is a Class C felony.
