Suspect in January murder sought by Walker County authorities

WALKER COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) – The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help tracking down a murder suspect who took off after he was bailed out of jail.

Johnny Cordell, a 46-year-old Dora native, is accused of shooting Jasper man in January. After he bonded out of jail in June, he was placed under house arrest.

The sheriff’s office lost track of him after he cut off his ankle monitor last weekend.

Anyone with information pertaining to the whereabouts of Cordell is asked to call the Walker County Sheriff’s Office at (205) 302-6464.
