BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Parents hope they are teaching their children to be prepared for any situation. That’s the idea behind the “Prepared, not Scared” camp. At the camp children learn everything from how to build a fire without matches, what to do if you’re bullied, or if you find a gun.
The hands-on camp gives them the skills to know what to do in a number of situations; some fun, some serious, but each lesson with one common theme, preparation.
More sessions are scheduled in July at Oak Mountain State Park and Trussville’s Athletic Center. For more information on the camp or to sign up, click here, or call 335-3483.
