BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – UPDATE: Birmingham police spokesman Lt. Sean Edwards says Jaderian Holloway has been found safe. Edwards says the boy’s mother was reportedly intoxicated while driving with her son late Sunday night.
She met up with a relative at a gas station, who then took the boy to their home. Edwards says the mother was so intoxicated she does not recall letting the relative watch over her son for the night.
Department of Human Resources are at the family’s home and will be taking custody of the 5-year-old and his 14-year-old sibling. Edwards says it’s possible charges could be filed against the mother, but police are still investigating the incident.
