1 of 2 dogs missing since Cullman car accident found safe

CULLMAN, Ala. (WIAT) – One of two dogs that went missing after a car crash in Cullman has been found safe. Molly was found Tuesday. Claire, the other dog that escaped has not yet been found.

Claire and Molly were inside the car with their owners, Olivia and Seth Hatfield, when they were involved in a car crash on Interstate 65. Olivia was injured and remains in a coma at UAB Hospital. She will undergo surgery for a feeding tube soon.

Seth was able to make it out of the accident with minor injuries.The two dogs ran away after the crash, causing a frantic search.

Friends and family have been searching for Claire and Molly since the accident.

“Seth knows that for Olivia, these dogs are her heart,” Elliott Thomas, a family friend, told WIAT 42 News last week. “And he wants her — when she wakes up from this coma — for these dogs to be there.”
