TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) – Tuscaloosa County investigators say the suspect in the shooting of a 9-year-old boy has been arrested. Keeondray Sterling, 26, is charged with attempted murder and first-degree assault.
Sterling is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on bonds totaling $120,000.
The incident happened on June 30 on a basketball court in the 1800 block of 41st Avenue in Tuscaloosa. Investigators say Sterling fired shots at two boys – a 17-year-old and a 9-year-old. The 9-year-old was struck in the arm.
WIAT 42 News is told the shooting was the result of an ongoing dispute.
