Appeals court grants new bond hearing for man charged with murder in Cullman Co.

CULLMAN COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) – A Cullman County man accused of killing a convicted sex offender will get a second chance at trying to bail out of jail. Jay Maynor is charged with murdering Raymond Brooks in June.

Maynor is being held on $141,000 cash bond. A judge recently denied his request to lower that bond, so he took his case to the Alabama Court of Appeals.

The appeal court granted his request for a new bond hearing.

It’s unclear when the new bond hearing will take place.
