Northport Fire and Rescue collecting donations for family of Melissa Rabon

NORTHPORT, Ala. (WIAT) – Northport Fire and Rescue is looking to help out the family of Melissa Rabon. She was killed in a fire in Hale County early Monday morning. The single mother was able to save her three children, but she became trapped in the fire.

The family wasn’t able to salvage any material possessions after the fire. The boys are staying with their grandmother, with little more than the clothing on their backs. Northport Fire is setting up drop off point at the station to donate items to the family. Donations can be dropped off at – Northport Fire Rescue: Station #4, 4900 Rose Blvd, Northport, Ala. 45475

People looking to make monetary donations can do so as well. The Melissa Rabon Fund has been set up at the People’s Bank of Greensboro and the Citizens Bank to help take care of funeral expenses and help her surviving children.
