Maynor case will not be transferred from district court

CULLMAN, Ala. (WIAT) – Several new motions filed on behalf of a Cullman man accused of killing a convicted sex offender have been denied.

The case of Jay Maynor will not be transferred from district court, because it has not gone to a grand jury. Maynor has also been denied access to a cell phone.

A discovery motion for details of Maynor for details of Maynor’s arrest will be answered before the end of next week.

Mayor is accused of killing Raymond Earl Brooks, who was convicted of sexually abusing one of Maynor’s family members in 2002.
