BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Some Birmingham firefighters have a new place to call home. A brand new fire station opened its doors Thursday in the Oxmoor area of Birmingham on Oslo Circle.
The new station is part of an effort to better protect those who live nearby. The public was invited to take a look at everything Fire Station 4 has to offer.
The Birmingham City Council approved the $2.5 million construction project in 2012.
It came at the request of residents who said there was a need for a fire station in the area.
