BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Defective airbags are behind the latest Nissan recall. The recall impacts more than 200,000 Infinities, Maximas, Pathfinders and Sentras made between 2002 and 2004.
Nissan officials say the bags can rupture and shoot metal fragments if and when they are deployed. The airbags are made by the same Japanese auto supplier whose faulty airbags have already led to millions of vehicle recalls.
Affected owners will be notified by the company. They can also call customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
