Suspect arrested, charged with attempted murder in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Birmingham police arrested and charged a man in connection with a suspected arson at a home on 65th Place North.

Birmingham police spokesman Lt. Sean Edwards says Robert Lee Nunn was arrested and charged with first-degree arson and attempted murder. The incident happened on July 25, according to authorities.

Edwards says Nunn allegedly came to the victim’s home and set the back porch on fire while the victim and the victim’s daughter were inside the home.

A neighbor helped contain the fire, and no one was injured.

Nunn is being held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
