BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – On Tuesday morning a special plane left Liberia carrying 59-year-old Nancy Writebol. She will arrive in Atlanta later Tuesday morning where she will be treated at a special isolation ward.
Writebol was infected with Ebola while working in Liberia, which is one of four West African nations dealing with the world’s largest Ebola outbreak.
Now with two cases just across the state line should people in Alabama be concerned?
Dr. David Pigott of UAB stopped by Wake Up Alabama Tuesday morning to explain why people in Alabama shouldn’t be concerned about Ebola at this time, since both individuals are in one of the most protected facilities in the country. He also spoke about the importance of really understanding Ebola.
